Fire has burned two lodges this afternoon in the Eastern Equatoria State capital, Torit.

The Mayor of Torit town, Martin Odeki, says property worth more than a million pounds have been destroyed by the fire.

“Three trailers came yesterday from Kenya loaded with a lot of beer and these got burned. In fact it is going to affect a lot because this is the main place; it is called Nyang and Son, one of the most potential people who have been actually importing so many drinks.” He said.
