A primary medical examination has shown the right eye of a girl pierced by the father in Warrap state is ruptured while the left one is irregular.

18-year-old Akuot Agany Kur was examined at the Egyptian clinic along the Mudiriya-Juba International Airport road .

She was flown to Juba from Wau twon of Western Bahr el Ghazal on Wednesday where she was initially admitted with the injuries inflicted on her by her father.

According to Doctor Ahmed Mardi who attended Akuot, the teen’s right eyeball is injured, and the retina detached.

“We examined both eyes, and we found that the right eye is ruptured with the eyeball injured and the retina detached.”

Doctor Mardi says he is yet to carry a computerized tomography scan to determine the condition of the left eyesight.

“In the left eye, there is detachment and the eyeball is irregular. But I could not see whether it is ruptured or not. So, further examination to determine that,” he said.
