The National Elections Commission (NEC) has released a seven-step voting guide to help voters understand the voting process during the upcoming elections.

The guide was released following the launch of the civic and voter education campaign in Juba this morning.

The campaign aims to help eligible voters understand the voting process ahead of the General Elections scheduled for 22 December 2026.

According to the Commission, the seven steps will guide voters on what to do on election day as part of preparations for the country’s General Elections.

The Commission said voters should arrive at their designated polling stations with a valid identity card or passport, verify their details on the voter registration form, receive officially stamped ballot papers, and mark their ballots secretly inside the voting booth.

Other steps require voters to cast their ballots into the appropriately labelled ballot boxes, have a finger marked with indelible ink to prevent multiple voting, and leave the polling station peacefully after voting.

The Commission said the guide is intended to help voters better understand the voting process and support the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections.

The Election Commission added that the guide will also be used during the National Civic and Voter Education Campaign, which was launched today.

The launch of the National Civic and Voter Education Campaign was held at Rambo Public Square and attended by senior government officials, including the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission, Prof. Abednego Akok Kacuol; Senior Presidential Advisor Kuol Manyang Juuk; Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Malek Joseph; and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Michael Makuei Lueth, among others.
