EE registers poor PLE performance

Author : | Published: Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Almost half of the pupils who sat for the Primary Leaving Examinations in Eastern Equatoria State last year have failed.

The state Minister of Education says more than 3,200 pupils sat the exams, but more than 1,500 failed.

Paska Hifita Oduho blamed the poor performance on lack of proper supervision from the school headmasters.

“The head masters were supposed to screen this student before they could also register; total screening. If you have not met the requirement that can take you to sit for an examination, there is no compromise. You don’t just push pupils for the sake of pushing them to sit for an examination.” She said.

Paska has urged the teachers to cover the entire syllabus before pupils sit for exams.
