The official Facebook account of Former US president Donald Trump has been reinstated online along with his Instagram account, after he was suspended in January 2021.

The accounts had been suspended for more than two years following his alleged role in instigating the January 6, 2021 riots and attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram first announced that it would reactivate Trump’s account in January, and has now reinstated the former president.

His Facebook appeared with his last post being on January 6 2021, when he appealed to the rioters to remain peaceful.

BBC quotes Meta as saying if Mr Trump breaks the rules again, he may be removed again – for between one month and two years.

Trump has already announced his third presidential bid in November 2022.
