DDR on Pension

The bill which will enable all ranks and files of the armed forces to receive pension based on their contributions since January 9, 2005 is soon to be realised. The National Military Pension Fund Bill is almost finalized. The pension fund will not be available for people who served before 2005 when the SPLA was a liberation military organization. However, the Public Information Officer of National Disarmament Demobilization and Reintegration Commission Kerbino Yel Deng said that, they are working with SPLA to help ex-combatants in other ways: To help army generals who are not covered by the national D-D-R programme, There is a National Freedom Gratuity Fund which offers a one-off payment in recognition of their service and sacrifice during the liberation struggle.
