The Special Court hearing the Nasir Incident Trial has ordered the fifth accused, suspended First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar, to remove his necktie after prosecutors raised concerns that he was not complying with an earlier court directive.

The order was issued during Session 101 of the trial on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Prosecution lawyer Ajo Ohisa informed the court that Dr. Machar was still wearing the necktie despite a previous instruction requiring him to remove it.

The court then directed Dr. Machar to take off the necktie, and he complied immediately. All eight accused were present during the hearing.

The defence team also requested permission to meet with the accused and provide them with copies of their defence statement and a newspaper.

The court later adjourned proceedings until Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
