Clinical officers at JTH threaten to down tools over incentives

Clinical officers at the accident and emergency department at Juba Teaching Hospital are threatening to lay down their tools.

This comes after they petitioned the administration of the hospital, outlining challenges facing the health professionals.

They say they have conducted several meetings with heads of the department in an attempt to address their demands and challenges but nothing has been done about it so far.

Their demands include incentives, accommodation, feeding during duty time and provision of personal protective equipment among others.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the health professionals gave the administration only 72 hours to meet their demands or else lay down their tools.

The 72-hour ultimatum ends today Saturday.

Eye Radio’s attempts to reach the hospital authorities were not immediately successful.
