The City Council says it will repair roads connecting town center with residential areas in Juba.

This comes as a boycott enters its second day today.

Yesterday, over 40 drivers of public transport boycotted Lologo route due to its poor conditions.

They say the road from Juba to the area has not been maintained by Juba City Council.

The deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance, Hakim Deng Majuc, urged residents to be ‘patient’.

“I want to tell people that we should be patient; if you can see there is no road that connects state to another state, leave the internal connection, and the reason is known to everyone,” said Mr Majuc.

Road constructions are not like washing the clothes; it needs many things.”

Mr. Majuc also urged the citizens to contribute some resources towards the process of roads repair.

“If there are people within areas and they want cooperate with Juba city council, we are ready.”

Mr. Deng says the current rehabilitation of roads is being carried out by Nile Petroleum, ABMC and Ayat Construction Company.
