The UN Children Agency says more than 700 cholera cases have been reported in Juba and Bor since the beginning of the outbreak last month.

Unicef says 20 percent of these cases are children. 32 people have died of the epidemic so far.

However, the Minister of Health in Central Equatoria State, Felix Ladu, says the daily admission of cases has reduced at the Juba Teaching Hospital.

“The number according to our evaluation has fallen dramatically down. It has come – that was on the 6th – to 15,” Mr Ladu told Eye Radio.

“We used to get 50 or 40 but now it has dropped very dramatically.”

Cases of the epidemic were also reported in Kajo-Keji County in Central Equatoria State.
