A delegation sent to Kajo-Keji County by the Central Equatoria State government is expected to hold meetings with local authorities in Moyo and Yumbe districts in neighboring Uganda.

The committee arrived in the border area on Saturday after a woman was shot dead and three men were abducted by suspected Ugandan troops.

Some South Sudanese lawmakers have accused the Ugandan army of enforcing illegal settlement of its citizens in Bamurye – a remote South Sudanese village bordering Moyo and Yumbe.

The officials sent from Juba, met the commissioner of Kajo-Keji, local chiefs, and community leaders, according to a press statement from the governor’s office.

They reportedly appealed to local youth to be patient and allow the two governments to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels.

The delegation comprising the state Advisor for Peace and Security Angelo Daya, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Wayi Godwill, and the Director for Counter Intelligence, are also expected to meet the commissioners of Moyo and Yumbe on the issue.
