The Government of Central Equatoria State is today launching the Equator Broadcasting Cooperation (EBC) and the Central Equatoria State Newspaper as part of efforts to improve communication with the public.
The launch ceremony is taking place at the EBC premises under the theme “Strengthening access to information for informed citizens, democratic practices, and good governance.”
The event is being attended by the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, together with senior government officials, media practitioners, and invited guests.
State authorities say the establishment of the two media platforms will help ensure timely access to information and strengthen public engagement.
The state government stated that effective communication plays a key role in promoting good governance and building public trust.
The Equator Broadcasting Cooperation will operate as a television station, while the Central Equatoria State Newspaper will serve readers who rely on print media for information.
Officials said the two platforms are designed to complement each other and reach a wide range of audiences across the state.
EBC was first established several years ago but later stopped operating due to logistical and operational challenges.
Its relaunch, together with the introduction of the state newspaper, marks a renewed effort by the government to revive public broadcasting and expand access to state-level information.
Authorities believe the two outlets will help narrow the communication gap between the government and citizens, promote transparency, and increase public awareness of government policies and services in Central Equatoria State.
