Canadian pop superstar Celine Dion has announced the cancellation of her “Courage World Tour” schedules through 2024 and “will likely never tour again,” CNN reported Saturday.

Dion, 55, is known for her vocal prowess and her passionate showmanship, and has achieved international superstardom in the 1990s.

“She is in a lot of pain. She does daily physical therapy,” a source close to the singer is quoted by the American news channel.

The French-Canadian pop legend also announced on Twitter that “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again.”

“I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”she continued.

The singer postponed several shows in December 2022 after disclosing being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a condition, she said, that doesn’t allow her “to sing the way I’m used to.”

The disorder is a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord, according to the U.S. Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Celine Dion has recorded numerous hit albums in both French and English and was the recipient of several prestigious awards.

Raised in a small town near Montreal Canada, Dion began singing with her musically inclined family when she was five years old.
