The SPLA Spokesperson says calm has returned to Raja County in Western Bahr El-Ghazal State after Sudanese warplane bombed Dem-Jallab area.
Two persons were killed and seven others wounded.
The incident took place at Deim-Jallab, about 35 miles west of Raja town on the border with Sudan on the eve of the New Year.
Speaking to Eye Radio, Colonel Philip Aguer, says the SPLA will continue to defend the “territorial integrity” of South Sudan from any incursions.
‘‘The situation is now calm we only had to defend our territorial integrity [of South Sudan]. As the SPLA, we will continue to defend ourselves and defend the territorial integrity of the Republic of South Sudan against any incursion.” He said.
Raja County Commissioner, James Benjamin Mardama, says those wounded are being treated at Raja Hospital.
There were no comments from the spokesperson of the Sudan Armed Forces on this incident.
