The SPLA spokesperson says it is now calm in Lelo and Warjok localities near Malakal, where it clashed with the SPLM in Opposition forces over the weekend.

Brigadier Lul Ruai told Eye Radio on Monday that the SPLA retained control of the two areas after the fighting. He dispatched journalists to the area after the clashes.

At least 60 people were killed on both sides during the clashes.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Dr Riek Machar confirmed the fighting but did not admit that the SPLA retained control.
