South Sudan has defeated Libya 95–57 in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers, taking a significant step toward securing a place in the next stage of the competition.

The Bright Stars dominated from the opening tip, racing to a 22–7 first-quarter lead before extending their advantage to 42–18 at halftime.

They maintained their intensity throughout the second half, outscoring Libya in every quarter to complete an emphatic 38-point victory.

The convincing win strengthens South Sudan’s qualification campaign and reinforces the team’s growing reputation as one of Africa’s leading basketball nations.

Their disciplined defense, sharp ball movement, and efficient scoring proved too much for Libya, who struggled to keep pace throughout the contest.

With more qualification games ahead, South Sudan will aim to carry this momentum forward as they continue their pursuit of a place at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027.
