Bor: Burglars steal over $145,000 from CRS office

Unknown gunmen broke into the office of the humanitarian agency, Catholic Relief Services in Bor last night and stole money and other valuable items.

They took computers, cameras and mobile phones. The agency has reported the case to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and the police.

Officials from the commission say more than 145,000 US dollars were stolen.

“They came behind the fence. They broke it, went inside the finance room and looted 117,000 US dollars and 90,000 SSP,” said Deng Ajok, an employee.

Mr Deng says this is the second attack in less than a week on the premises of humanitarian organizations in Jonglei State.

Last week, unknown gunmen burnt a food store that belonged to the Food and Agriculture Organization

Mr Deng says on suspect has been arrested in both cases.
