Traders in Bentiu, Northern Liech, say bad roads have forced them to increase the prices of goods in the market.

The Chairperson of the Traders’ Union, William Chang Dador, says most of the roads are impassible making it difficult to transport commodities from Juba to the area.

For them to transport goods to Bentiu, they have to airlift them, which Mr Chang says is costly.

“There are lots of charges from the owners of the plane. One kilo is charged at 120 South Sudanese Pounds [to be transported] from Juba to Bentiu,” he explained.
