Arab investors express interest in South Sudan

Businesspeople from Sudan and Arab states have accepted to come and invest in South Sudan, The Minister of Interior, Aleu Ayieny Aleu, has said. 

Mr. Aleu met with the businessmen during his visit to Khartoum last week.

The minister told the media that there is an improvement in the relationship between South Sudan and Sudan.

“We have met with trade unions, bank owners from Gulf Cooperation Council; they accepted also to invest in South Sudan,” said Mr Aleu.

“This is a step forward. I think during the coming days, we will see the good relations.”

On Monday, South Sudan and Sudan signed four M-O-U-s on four freedoms of residence, freedom of movement, freedom to undertake economic activity and freedom to acquire and dispose property.

They also agreed on re-opening of the border and customs between the two countries.
