The Council of Ministers has approved Four Hundred Seventy Thousand US dollars for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to facilitate the work of border verification team.

The money was requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.

The ministry presented a memo to the cabinet requesting this money to help a team to verify the border areas of Uganda in the south and Sudan in the north.

The Deputy Minister of Information, Rachel Nyadak Paul, told the media in Juba that the cabinet approved the money:

“The memo raised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on border verification exercise requesting an approval of USD 469,420 to facilitate the team. The council unanimously approved the request for that exercise” the Deputy Minister said.

There are still areas of contention along South Sudan’s thousands of miles of border.
