The Council of Ministers has approved about 18.4 million pounds to cover hotel bills of former armed groups that were accommodated by the National Security.

The Minister of Information, Michael Makuei Lueth, says the bills were accumulated before and after the Independence of South Sudan.

He says it was presented to the President by the Minister of Cabinets Affair on a request from the National Security Minister.

“He presented a bill of 18,391,473 .This bills which are being handled by the Ministry of National Security are bills of the former armed groups and others who were brought in by the National Security and were accommodated in those hotels so that their problems are resolved,” Mr Makuei told the press.

“Some of these people are already integrated into the army; other forces like those of Tanginya and so forth are so many. So some of them are no longer here but the bills are there to be settled.”

Mr. Makuei says the cabinet has directed that the bills should be verified before the payments are made.
