Aggrey Duku Arkanjelo was a delegate of Yei River County Youth Association

The Central Equatoria State Electoral Committee has declared Advocate Aggrey Duku Arkanjelo the duly elected Chairperson of the Central Equatoria State Youth Union following a competitive youth leadership election.

The election brought together delegates from across Central Equatoria State to elect leaders who will champion the interests and aspirations of young people throughout the state.

Aggrey Duku Arkanjelo, representing the Yei River County Youth Association, emerged victorious after securing 37 votes, earning the mandate to lead the youth body for the 2026–2030 term.

The race attracted five candidates, including three women and two men. Flavia Lisok Morris of the Juba City Council Youth Association finished second with 35 votes. Kiden Jackline of the Wounduruba Youth Association garnered 13 votes, while Nelson Wani Oliver of Juba County received 6 votes. Keji Victoria of the Lainya Youth Association secured 1 vote.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, Chairperson-elect Aggrey Duku Arkanjelo expressed gratitude to delegates and pledged to work closely with youth across the state to achieve the union’s goals.

“It was not easy, but I am very happy that we have raised the bar and the flag of Central Equatoria. To my colleagues, I am so happy that today we are going to work all together. We should not relax; this is the beginning. We shall open a new page so that we realize the mission and objectives of the union,” said Aggrey Duku Arkanjelo.

The newly elected leadership is expected to steer youth programs and advocate for greater youth participation in development and governance across Central Equatoria State.
