Adil pledges 15m pounds for Rokon school construction

The governor of Central Equatoria has pledged 15 million South Sudanese pounds for the completion of a partially built secondary school in Rokon Payam.

Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony announced the additional funding during his weekend visit to disseminate peace in the area that has been destabilized by farmers-herders conflicts.

The construction of the two-storey building had stalled due to unexplained reasons.

In his remark, Adil said the state Ministry of Finance will deliver the money next month.

“I want to assure you that we are going to finish this school and the minister of Education Serisio, next month give another 15 million to complete this school and it moves on,” he said.

Meanwhile, he appealed to the Mundari community in the area and the host community to co-exist peacefully.

“Everything has its time and all these things will end and Rokon will return to its normalcy and peace and you will live in peace in your home,” he said.

Governor Emmanuel also pledged to upgrade the Rokon Primary Healthcare Unit and procure an ambulance to respond to health referral emergencies in the area.
