The Governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adil Anthony has instructed some army commanders to facilitate the evacuation of cattle herders out of the state.

This is according to Moro Genesio, the state minister of Local Governments and Law Enforcement.

He said the decision was arrived at during a security meeting in Yei County, chaired by Governor Adil on Wednesday.

Adil arrived in the area on Monday after visiting returnees spending a day with returnees in Morobo County on the weekend.

According Minister Genesio, the state leadership instructed the SSPDF commanders in Kaya Payam, Yei and Lainya counties to implement President Kiir’s order for the evacuation of cattle herders.

“We agreed that all the forces have to be moved to Lainya and some parts of Yei where issues of cattle keepers have been reported,” Genesio said to reporters in Yei town.

“The forces accepted that the order of his excellency the president must be implemented immediately as they were,” he added.

“They have been instructed by the governor to Lainya to start moving out the cattle.”

Genesio further added that Governor Adil will be stationed in Yei town for the next three days to oversee the process.
