Three of the defense witnesses in the case of former officials accused of playing a role in the loss of millions of US dollars in the office of the president have testified today in court.

The three are witnesses for John Agou, who is the first accused in the case, and his wife, Anyieth Chaat Paul.
Last week, the High Court issued a guilty verdict for the 16 former officials.

They were accused of forging the signature of the president, complicity, and the use of presidential stamps, among others.
Today, only Joseph Aguer, Mabior Atem, Kuai Makech testified. This brings to five the total number of those who have testified so far in favor of Mr John Agou.

On Tuesday, the lawyers of the accused asked the court to have the director of internal security service and the director of external security service appear in court to testify.
But today, they failed to appear in court.

They will appear in court on Monday, the 23RD of 2016.
