About 4,000 police officers recruited since 2012

The National Ministry of Interior says it has trained over 4,000 police officers at Rajaf Police academy since 2012.

South Sudan Police Spokesperson, Colonel James Monday Enoka said the police were trained in leadership and other different discipline.

Colonel Monday says the training is intended to improve the capacity of police forces in the country.

“First of all we started with 33 Major Generals, 58 Brigadiers, 198 Colonels, 196 Lieutenants and now we have 250 Majors in police academy. Till now we have about trained 4 thousand officers. We are moving on well with training, we shall train police officers on police code of conduct, who will serve the civilians”, he said.

Colonel Monday said that the Ministry of Interior will continue training more police officers at Rajaf Police Academy.
