Four people are nursing bullet wounds after the vehicle they were traveling in was ambushed by suspected Bandits in Budi County in Eastern Equatoria State, authorities have said.

Two people were reportedly killed in the incident between Chukudum and Kikilai roads by unidentified gunmen.

The Kenyan-owned car was attacked as it returned shortly after dropping a grinding meal machine in Kikilai Village.

Angelo Mauro, Budi County Health Department Director told Eye Radio the wounded have been admitted at the Chukudum hospital.

According to him, the survivors are in stable condition except one who is in the process of referral to the Torit State hospital.

“During the incident, we had casualties, all the casualties are four in number, three casualties sustained broken legs,” said Mauro.

“The other one was shot in the chest and is still in a very critical condition now,

“The rest are still undergoing management. One is currently in critical condition and is in the process of referral. The county hospital is referring to the state hospital Torit”.

The motive of the attack is unclear, but banditry and revenge killings have been common in those areas.
