3 killed in aerial attack in Maban

Three people have been killed and four others wounded during a raid by a Sudanese plane in Maban County, an official has told Eye Radio.

Baruach Uluch Akoltan, the acting Minister of Information in Eastern Nile Sate says the antonov dropped 9 bombs in two administrative units close to the Sudanese border on Wednesday.

Mr Uluch told Eye Radio that it is necessary for the international community to intervene to end these on-and-off aerial bombardments.

“This time round, even about twenty heads of animals and two goats were killed, and two houses completely destroyed,” he said.

“We are urging South Sudan government and the international community to pay attention to these aerial bombardments.”

Last week, officials also said a Sudanese warplane bombed the area, killing one person and wounding two others.

The government of Sudan is not yet to respond to the latest incident.
