About twenty trucks of fuel are expected to arrive in the country today, according to Nile Petroleum Company.

There has been shortage of fuel in Juba in the past two weeks, and it has affected public transport in the town.

The Managing Director of Nilepet, Joseph Cleto, says the fuel crisis is a regional problem.

He says East African countries are also facing the same shortage.

“The reason behind the shortage is that because there is no petrol there in Kenya,” Mr Cleto stated.

“But we managed to get number of trucks. They will normalize the situation.”

In Juba, a litter of fuel that is selling at six pounds at the pump is being sold at more than 100 pounds on the streets.

There is also a similar shortage in Yei River County, where a litter costs 40 pounds outside petrol stations.
