The Commissioner of Mongala County in Jubek State says two people have been shot dead and three others wounded in an attack along the Juba road.

Elario Paulo says a passenger bus from Juba was attacked by suspected criminals yesterday, seven miles away from Managala trading center.

The motive of the attack remains unclear; however Mr Paulo says security forces are carrying out investigations into the incident.

“The identity of the attackers is unclear, a group of people suddenly appeared and threatened the driver, and the passengers the driver tried to escape from the criminals but unfortunately two people died and others wounded.

“This gang disappeared, but according to eyewitness the criminals had dreadlocks on their heads.”

Mr Elario one of the passengers was critically wounded, and is receiving treatment at the Juba Teaching Hospital.
