Two police officers suspected of rape and looting in the districts of Khor William and Jebel in the capital have been arrested.

Central Equatoria state Police Commissioner Abraham Manyuat told Eye Radio that members of the organized forces who commit crimes will be prosecuted.

“Whoever misbehaves or commits a crime, we will deal with him according to the Police Act. So those who committed crimes in the police, of course, now they are detained, they will be investigated and then they will be taken to the police court automatically. They will be dismissed from their jobs and they will even go to prison,” he said.

Yesterday, the Minister of Interior, Aleu Ayieny, said police officers accused of crimes will be held accountable.

Major General Abraham Manyuat also confirmed that the Yei and Kajo-Keji roads are now reopen to the public.

The authorities had closed the roads because of suspected rebel activity in the area.
