An eyewitness says the plane already took off when it came down.

At least 19 people have perished and two others survived when an airplane transporting engineers from the Unity oilfield to Juba crashed ten minutes after takeoff, according to multiple sources.

A Unity State government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the plane was carrying 21 people including the crew members. He was unable to provide more information on the incident.

According to a flight manifest seen by Eye Radio, the carrier operated by Light Air Services was transporting 19 passengers and two crew members. Among them are 16 South Sudanese, two Chinese and one Indian.

Meanwhile, an eye witness said the plane already took off and departed from the oilfield area – when its wing snapped off forcing it to come down ten minutes later.

He said all but one of the passengers died in the crash. The identity of the survivor has not yet been disclosed.

This is a developing story. More details to follow………….
