13,000 candidates sit primary school leaving exams

More than 13,000 pupils in Central Equatoria State are sitting the South Sudan Primary School Certificate Examination.

The five-day exams commenced on Monday with English paper. It ends with Mathematics paper on Friday.

The State Minister of Education, Clement Maring, encouraged the candidates to build confidence during the examination period.

He spoke at the launch of the examinations in Kanjoro Primary School in Yei River County.

ā€œIā€™m going to ring the bell here in Yei and let me hope all of you will pass,ā€ Mr Maring said.

Yei River County Education Director Philip Taban says the number of the students sitting in the county has risen compared to last year.
