Weekend flights to resume at JIA

Author : | Published: Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Weekend flights that were suspended last year will resume this month after completion of the extension of the runway, Juba International Airport management has told Eye Radio.

The weekend flights were suspended in July last year to allow for renovations.

The director of the airport, Kur Kuol, told Eye Radio that the extension would be completed before the end of this month.

“All the big aircrafts landing in Entebbe, Khartoum airport, and Jomo Kenyatta we will be ready here to receive them because we will be having a longest runway of 3.1Km,” Mr Kur said.

In 2014, the government set aside some $10 million through the Chinese Exim Bank for the renovation of the airport.
