The parliament in Warrap State has cleared the Finance Minister of allegations of diverting funds against the budget.

Adrea Aguer Ariik was accused of misappropriating more than 3 million pounds from the pension scheme.

He said he released the money on loan to the security sector to address emergency issues.

On Tuesday, the state assembly voted to clear the minister of the charges.

27 MPs voted in support of the minister while 9 voted against. Four others abstained.
