Ten people have been killed in a cattle raiding incident in a Warrap state village this morning, authorities have said.

The incident occurred at Mayen Jur, Gogrial East County at 2 O’clock early morning.

Six soldiers and two civilians were killed in the incident, according to Mariak Madut Thiik, County Information Officer.

He said two of the attackers were also killed. The origin of the attackers is unclear.

Mr. Mariak appealed to the state authorities to deploy additional security forces in the area in order to protect the local populations.
