TGoNU delegation to lobby UN support in New York

A delegation of the Transitional Government of National Unity will visit the United Nations in New York to appeal for support, according to the Vice President, James Wani igga.

The team will be led by the First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai, in order to also explain to the leaders of IGAD countries why there were changes made within the SPLM-IO leadership.

On Monday, President Salva Kiir told the leaders of SPLM-IO in Juba that it will be upon them to make the region understand why Dr. Riek Machar was replaced as the First Vice President.

“Taban, and some members of the team which will selected by the President to go to the neighboring countries, including Khartoum as number one, so that we put to the clearly the situation,” said Vice President Wani Igga, while addressing the media at the State House on the 28th July.

The team will also tour neighboring countries to advocate for regional support for the peace agreement.

Wani Igga also said the Presidency is accelerating discussions on how to improve security in the whole country, revive the economy, and repatriate Internally Displace Persons.
