The schedule of the implementation of the peace agreement will be reviewed to address the delayed formation of the transitional government, the Minister of Information has said.

According to the peace deal, the transitional period should have begun 90 days after signing of the agreement in August last year. But the TGoNU was formed just about a week ago.

Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth said the government has formed a committee to work on the matter.

“There is a need to update it so that we follow the implementation of the provisions of the agreement in accordance with the new matrix,” Mr Makuei told the journalists after a meeting of the Council of Ministers in Juba today.

Mr Makuei said the committee would report back to the cabinet on either Monday or Tuesday. Thereafter, an extraordinary meeting would be convened.
