South Sudan faces Mauritania in World Cup qualifier

Author : | Published: Wednesday, October 7, 2015

Bright Stars are facing Mauritania in order to transit to the second round in world Cup qualifier 2018 today at Juba Stadium.

This is the second time for South Sudan national team to participate in world cup qualifier since it was recognized by CAF and FIFA in 2012.

South Sudan was eliminated from the first round in 2014 qualifiers by Mozambique by the aggregate of 5:0 in Mozambique and 0:0 in Sudan.

However, this is the first time for Bright Stars to play their world Cup qualifiers at home, after FIFA and CAF approved Juba stadium this year as the standard International Stadium.

The march will kick off this afternoon at 4:30. A Ugandan referee will officiate the game with match commissioner from Djibouti.

The match will be aired live on Eye Radio starting with commentary from 4:00 p.m. Eye Radio is available on 98.6 FM in Juba, 98.8FM in Torit, 88.6FM in Aweil and Wau, and 89.0FM (Yambio).
