Murle tribesmen attacked Jalle? ‘No evidence’

The Greater Pibor Administration area has denied that its denizens took part in the cattle raid in Bor County, Jonglei, which left over 20 people dead.

On Friday, the Commissioner of Bor County, Mamer Ruk, confirmed the incident to Eye Radio.

He said the raiders attacked a cattle camp in Jalle Payam on Wednesday morning and drove off several heads of cattle.

Mr. Ruk said the gunmen came from the neighboring Pibor.

However, the Minister of Information in Greater Pibor Administration, Sam David, told Eye Radio that there is no evidence showing that the attackers were from Pibor.

“My question is: those who carried out the attack, why was there no even one person killed so that people can see and identify that the attackers are from Pibor?” Mr David argued.

“There is no evidence. And those forests, of course, can accommodate any person.”
