MP urges households to grow vegetables

A Member of Parliament in Warrap State Legislative Assembly for Turalei Constituency is urging the community to grow more vegetables.

Hon. Madut Kon Awan says planting vegetables will support the economy of the county.

He says cultivating vegetables will also provide more jobs to the people.

Hon. Kon urged every household in all the villages to have a small garden that will provide them with vegetables.

He said ten women should team up and work together and mobilize the rest to engage in vegetables cultivation.

Honorable Kon says vegetables cultivated locally provide fresh and healthy food to the people.

South Sudan imports food fromĀ its neighbors.

He saidĀ the people of South Sudan should not import vegetables from Uganda and Kenya, because we have a fertile land.

Honorable Madut Kon also appealed to the County Agriculture office and other partners to assist the farmers with seeds and farming tools.
