The chairman of the Bar Association says elections will be held in March next year after a disagreement over the replacement of the late chairman, Dr William Kon Bior.

Last week, a dispute emerged within the Bar Association over the replacement late Kon Bior, who died two weeks ago.

The high electoral committee of the association said the new chairperson, James Altayib, who took over after the death of the former chairman, was illegal because he was not elected by the general assembly.

But Mr Altayib told Eye Radio that the association has proposed that the general elections will be held in March 2017.
