Author : | Published: Friday, March 20, 2015

Authorities in Eastern Equatoria are urging aid organizations to provide supplies to Lafon area, which is facing severe food shortage.

The Minister of Information says the crops have been destroyed by floods and wild animals.

Mark Akio said the agencies should deliver food before rainy season destroys the roads.

“If you’re monitoring from Juba, many local people from Lafon go to Juba to purchase food. Others are coming Torit,” Mr Akio told Eye Radio.

Lafon was one of the areas hit by severe hunger in 2013. Others included Kapoeta East, Kapoeta North, Kapoeta South and Budi counties.
