Eyewitnesses say two people were shot dead by a gunman at Khor William in Juba on Wednesday night.

An eyewitness who requested anonymity told Eye Radio that a gunman attacked family and killed two members at 2 in the morning.

When a rapid response police unit arrived, the man opened fire at the vehicle.

The police then fired back, killing him on spot. The motive of the attack is unclear.

“When those of 777 Unit came, they shot dead the assailant,” said the eyewitness.

He said the bodies were taken to the mortuary this morning.

Meanwhile, police spokesperson Bridger general Daniel Justin said they have launched an investigation into the incident.

Two weeks ago, one person was killed by unidentified attacker at the same area of Khor William.
