President Salva Kiir and the leader of the SPLM-SPLA In Opposition Dr. Riek Machar will meet tomorrow to discuss the contentious issues, the IGAD Chief mediator for South Sudan peace talks has announced.

Addressing the media in Addis Ababa this evening, Ambassador Seyum Mesfin, said the principals will discuss three main issues that have slowed down progress of the peace process.

These include power sharing, security arrangements and the structures of the executive and the national legislature.

Ambassador Seyum says the two principals will be meeting in the presence of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, who is the chair of IGAD.

“We are hoping the Ethiopian Prime Minister and the chair of IGAD will bring them together tomorrow and they will be asked to discuss only three issues: structure of the government particularly the top level, the president, the first vice president, vice president or president and the prime minister and vice president,” said Amb Seyoum.

The IGAD mediators say the parties must sign a final peace agreement on Thursday, the 5th of March.
