The MoU provides for laying a fibre optic cable alongside a road to be constructed from Eldoret in Kenya to Nadapal and up to Juba.

The MoU was signed between Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information Computer Technology, Dr. Fred Matiang’i and the South Sudanese Minister of Telecommunication and Postal Services, Rebecca Joshua Okwachi.

The MoU is to ensure that ICT becomes a main component of communication between the two countries. It is also part of the East African Regional Transport, Trade and Development Facilitation Program.
