The Commissioner Jubek Revenue Authority says part of their building caught fire this afternoon after an electrical fault.

Fredric Lokule says that the incident happened at 3 pm shortly after the staffs return from their lunch break.

He says UNMISS intervened by sending a fire brigade and managed to put off the fire before spreading to other offices.

Mr. Lokule did not mention how much damages have been caused by the fire but says that some important documents got destroyed.

“After 3:00 this afternoon, when we came back from lunch; after one and a half hour or one hour or so. There was the electric shock in one of the offices. And then we tried to switch it but we could not; however we put off the main switch, it resisted until we call four trucks of water, we tried our level best but part of the building is already damage,” Lokule said.

He says some of the documents burnt include those containing financial records of the state.
