JUBA ACCUSES KHARTOUM OF AIDING SPLM/A-IO

Author : | Published: Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Defense Minister Kuol Manyang Juuk says Sudan is supporting the SPLM in Opposition forces.

The accusation comes after the visit of Riek Machar to Khartoum last week.

The rebels received some guns and ammunitions in Unity and Upper Nile states, Mr Kuol told Eye Radio.

However, the Sudanese Armed Forces spokesman, Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khaled Saad denied that Sudan supports the SPLM in Opposition forces.

He said the recent visit of Dr. Riek Machar to Sudan came as part of Sudan’s mediation between the conflicting parties.

Saad said that Sudan has received similar visits by President Salva Kiir and the defense minister, but that it does not support any of the parties.
