Journalist Afandy Joseph has been released after spending almost 2 months in detention.
Mr Afandy was arrested in Juba on 25 December 2015 allegedly for writing a newspaper article critical of the ruling party, SPLM.
Last week, human rights groups, including Amnesty International, urged the government to charge Afandy and take him to court or release him immediately.
“Afandy is now with his father at home,” said Abraham Malek, friend.
