The former minister of interior, General Alison Manani Magaya, has been laid to rest in his home county, Maridi, in Western Equatoria State.

Hundreds of people gathered this morning in Maridi for his burial.

“The burial of late ambassador Alison Manani Magaya took place this morning at 10 AM in his own home in Maridi and it was led by a procession from the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio,” our correspondet, Paul Night says.

Gen Alision was the first Interior Minister in the first cabinet after the independence of South Sudan.

He was then relieved and appointed as South Sudan’s ambassador to Switzerland and passed away in Geneva last week after an illness.
